Episode Transcript: Introducing the Medical Marketing Podcast

Hey what’s up everybody, and welcome to the first ever episode of the Medical Marketing Podcast from Messenger – the show that gives you bite-sized, actionable tips on how to improve your practice marketing, expand your patient pipeline, and grow revenue!

I’m your host, Crawford Ifland, and I’m the founder and creative director at Messenger, a full-service digital marketing agency for physicians and medical device companies.

Before we get into this podcast, I wanted to share the vision behind it – Who’s this podcast for? What sorts of tips are we going to be sharing? And why a podcast in the first place? Ready to dive in? Let’s go.

Who’s the Medical Marketing Podcast for?

Well, if you do any marketing related to the medical industry, this podcast is for you.

You could be a physician at a solo practice, doing a lot of things yourself. You could be a practice administrator who’s trying to grow a marketing team. Or, you could the marketing team lead at a large, multi-location practice with a staff underneath you – my hope is that regardless of how big your practice is or what your current marketing strategy looks like, that you can get something out of this podcast. I want to give you actionable insights that will help you take that strategy – whatever it may be – and make it even better.

So, what sort of tips will we be sharing?

We’re a digital agency that focuses exclusively on the medical industry, so that’s what we understand.

We will cover some more “traditional” marketing techniques and strategies, but we’ll primarily focus on the digital side of things: your practice website. SEO. Google Ads and PPC campaigns. Social media. Patient review generation systems. Etc, etc…

However, we also want to get into some topics that don’t have anything to do with digital, per se – the psychology of how we make decisions, and how you can wield that knowledge to lead more patients to your desired outcome, like electing for a premium procedure – this is the type of stuff we’ll focus on, too.

And last but not least, why a podcast in the first place?

Well, a few reasons here. First and foremost, we want this content to be very “consumable” – if you’re doing mindless tasks at work, this could be playing in the background. During your commute? You might as well be learning something, right?

Also, we hope it will help you share what you’ve learned with your team to help them implement the strategies we discuss. Look, we’re all busy – it’s not always easy to find the time to sit down and read the blog post your colleague sent you, but you can always pop a pair of headphones in and listen to a quick episode while you’re working on something else. That’s our goal here.

So, that’s a bit about the Medical Marketing Podcast – we’re really excited to be going on this journey, and we hope you’ll join us, learn valuable techniques and skills, and have some fun along the way.

First up, we’re going to talk about one of the most important – and underutilized – assets in your marketing arsenal: your practice website.

See you in the next episode.
